His job, as he sees it, is to stay close enough to the struggle so patients trust that he understands, while staying far enough down the road to show them the view is worth the walk. Whether it’s helping someone reconnect with a forgotten passion, build a new one from scratch, or just believe that joy is still allowed on the other side, Steven meets every patient exactly where they are, and then refuses to let them stay there.
